All ITS-managed Windows servers that are joined to the AD.SYR.EDU domain, and ITS Linux servers which have an update group membership, will be restarted to apply system patches on Tuesday, August 18, 2026 . Servers will be unavailable between 1:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. ET, as determined by update group membership. Services on each Windows server will be unavailable for roughly 10-20 minutes. If installed updates require a Linux server to reboot, services will experience a short outage, typically less than 5 minutes.
